Team Finished: The New Equalisers

Would you believe that I only have a handful of my "homebrew" heroes left to paint? There are more miniatures that I want, but finding suitable figures always holds me back. Anyway, let's get on with it, shall we?

The Equalisers
A superhero team with such a long and storied history as The Equalisers has had a great many members over the years, with some retiring, moving on to other teams, or occasionally dying fighting the good fight. No matter the age or crisis, however, there will always be Equalisers ready to battle evil.

The Machiavellian, Particle Man, Capacitor and the Scarlet Blade.

The Machiavellian (Hasslefree) and The Scarlet Blade (Eureka) are new models for old heroes, I was never happy with the previous ones.

Capacitor (converted Crossover)

Capacitor: Christopher Condos was an ADF engineer working on understanding the technology behind the Blackwing Androids when one exploded in his face due to a belated self-destruct command. Condos survived, but elements of the Android couldn't be removed from his body; over time, this detritus would grant him unusual powers. Condos found he could charge, channel and redirect the flow of electricity, from altering currents to throwing bolts of lightning, he had become a living Capacitor and Generator. Condos was quickly seconded to the Equalisers as a military attache, as the team and the ADF still had a close association at the time, though he rarely took an active role in combat situations. Condos continued his membership with the team, even after they split from the ADF and became an independent organisation.

Particle Man (Superfigs)

Particle Man: Robert Baker was a particle physicist working independently on confirmation research when he inadvertently discovered a method of safely shrinking objects and people and returning them to their original size. Knowing that his discovery could be easily weaponised, he sought protection with the largest superhero organisation on the planet until he could find a way to make the technology inherently benevolent. As Particle man, Baker sees comparatively little "action" in superhero terms, often operating in a consultative or technical role for the team. When Baker does don his costume, however, he is perhaps one of the most powerful members of the team. Able to slip between molecules themselves, Particle Man cannot be stopped by any boundary, and a microscopic punch here and there can fell the mightiest of foes. Baker is not a violent man, and so often is resistant to do harm, but when the need arises, he is a power member of the Equalisers.

This marks the last lot of Equalisers that I have any plans to paint and stat up. There are more characters in the team from the original Roleplaying Game, as well as my later writings and in my head, but having a team of more than 10 members doesn't really seem worth it. If I find myself playing more SS4 games, and want to build the narrative, or even just play out the one in my head, maybe we'll meet characters like Miss M, Flail and Rockabilly Rebel. Only time will tell.
